Let me tell you, straight out. . . If you can't find a way to focus your efforts, you will not make money in real estate.

Plain and simple.

Now,  I've been making money in real estate for years. But when I first got into real estate investing, I couldn't get focused. I was listening to this guru, that guru, yet another guru –  and got so bogged down with information overload I didn't take ACTION. Textbook case of “paralysis by analysis.” Don’t laugh! YOU know what I mean. How many study courses are on YOUR shelf?

I wasn't able to choose an investment strategy and stay focused and finish it. I would read an e-book or take some information from a seminar or listen to a teleconference and try to put that information to use. Pre-foreclosures? You bet! Short sales? Been there! Lease options? Subject to? Got the t-shirt! Get the idea? Now, I’m not saying that the education wasn’t worth while. It was. I was getting great strategies from some of the best real estate gurus around. And I could make money from any ONE of these strategies.

Only I wasn’t. The problem was that I would never fully commit to a strategy. I was always searching for something better. I was always looking for the next big thing. I was looking for something that didn't exist. I was looking for something that didn't require much work and was going to make me a millionaire overnight.  Bet you know just what I'm talking about!

And THEN one day it hit me. There was no guru, strategy, or course that was going to do this for me! I had the information in my hands to make a great living in real estate. I just wasn't using it. I wasn't staying focused on a strategy long enough to see any returns. This takes work folks. And commitment. And, most of all, ACTION.

What you have to do is pick a strategy and stick with it! Once you implement your strategy, whatever it may be, the money will start coming in. And isn’t that why you got into this business in the first place?

I always say that the toughest deal to close is the first one. There are so many people that don't make any money in real estate and just give up. The first deal was definitely the toughest for me.  It gets easier once you have closed some deals. You realize that you really can make money and your confidence soars! You can just keep on doing what you were doing to make even more money. Work harder and expand your business. Repeat what you're doing to make money and just keep expanding on that process and keep working on ways to improve your business.

FOCUS and ACTION. Get it?
